Find Unique Gifts and Items for Your Rittenhouse Claridge Home at Occasionette

April 10, 2014

Sara Selepouchin didn't set out to open a boutique. She was actually training to become an architect when a gift boutique seemed to spring up. In 2005, she started selling fun, whimsical diagram drawings online under the Girls Can Tell brand. Over the next few years, her hobby slowly evolved into a full-fledged business. And so in 2013, the South Philly artist debuted Occasionette on East Passyunk Avenue, a short trip from Rittenhouse Claridge.

This shop is not only fully stocked with her Girls Can Tell items (which you can still purchase online), but also pieces from other artists that Sara carefully selected herself. If the ware comes from Sara's collection, chances are good that it's fresh from the adjacent studio. Anything not printed there comes from the capable studios of Philadelphia-area independent printers. Some of the printed pieces include notebooks and cards, tea towels and tableware, recycled cotton lunch bags, onesies for babies, and even whimsical temporary tattoos.
