The only rule that chefs follow at Philadelphia's Jones? If it's not comfort food, it's not going on the menu. That's not to say the fare at this popular spot on Chestnut Street deals in casual fare, though. The kitchen team puts a contemporary twist on every dish, resulting in a fancy form of comfort food that you won't find elsewhere near Rittenhouse Claridge.
Start your meal at Jones with gooey baked mac and cheese, nachos topped with shredded chicken, or cheesy pierogies complemented by caramelized onions. Just make sure that you save plenty of room for the main course, because the options are hearty. You can opt for a full entree, like the fried chicken and waffles, the sesame-seared tuna, or the pecan-crusted tilapia. But if you prefer a sandwich, Jones offers a pretty decent selection of those, too. Try the Texan barbecue pulled pork or brisket stuffed inside of a brioche bun.
