See Classic Theater in Philadelphia by Quintessence Theatre Group, not far from Rittenhouse Claridge

August 21, 2014

If you're looking for excitement, consider a visit to see the Quintessence Theatre Group. Performing at The Sedgwick Theater, a relatively short distance from Rittenhouse Claridge, the Quintessence Theatre Group performs classics from centuries past, including recent productions such as Aeschylus' The Oresteia, and Shakespeare's Hamlet, as well as many greats from the 20th century. Some recent productions include The Wind in the Willows, and O'Neill's Mourning Becomes Electra. The stunning performances put forth by the casts serve these scripts well, according to online reviews, with some audience members gripping their seats at the intensity shown onstage.

Lending its aura to these performances is The Sedgwick Theater. This space opened in 1928 as a cinema, and has been repurposed for stage productions. Look around, and you'll see it still holds art deco touches that enhance the theater experience.
