See How a Meal at Philadelphia’s Butcher and Singer Is Like Stepping into a Time Machine

February 6, 2014

At Philly's Butcher and Singer, the ambiance is as much of a draw as the food. At this Walnut Street steakhouse, the throwback vibe is a nod to the glamour of old Hollywood, with dim lighting, leather banquettes, and polished wood decor. Many say that the chic bar is the perfect spot to sip a signature cocktail or a glass of wine.

If you choose to settle into a banquette or sit at a white cloth-covered table, you'll be greeted by a menu of old-school American fare. Many patrons start with the shellfish platter, which comes with shrimp, oysters, clams, Alaskan king crab legs, and lump crab. The dry aged Porterhouse is a popular entree, while the salmon entree is accompanied by warm artichokes and a white lima bean salad. Sides are equally decadent and include creamed spinach, baked potato, and brussels sprouts. Leave room for the Baked Alaska!

Open seven days a week, this trendy steakhouse near Rittenhouse Claridge serves lunch on weekdays and dinner daily.
