If you don’t know the famous story of Shakespeare’s King Lear, it goes something like this. An all-powerful king slowly slips into madness, and along the way, wreaks havoc in his own kingdom. He divides his subjects among his daughters, which subsequently triggers chaos throughout the land. You can watch it all unfold when Shakespeare in Clark Park Presents King Lear.
The Bard’s well-known play is coming to Clark Park from July 24th to 28th with a show at 7 p.m. every night. You might recognize some of the actors taking the stage—they include locally famous actors like Charlotte Northeast and Brian Anthony Wilson. And with Play on Philly providing the live score, King Lear will certainly come to life. The show is free, but donations are happily accepted.
