Taste the Tony Luke’s Difference With a Cheesesteak at His Original South Philly Location, Not Far From Rittenhouse Claridge

October 24, 2013

You've had a cheesesteak from Pat's and Geno's, but what about Tony Luke's? Tony Luke, the man behind the franchise, is a South Philly native, singer, actor, and producer who's also passionate about cheesesteaks!  At Tony Luke's original location on South's Philly Oregon Avenue, not too far from Rittenhouse Claridge, you'll find "Philly style" sandwiches. That is, delicious sandwiches without any tricks or pomp.

Here, bread is baked in-house, lending a chewy bite to Tony Luke's hoagies and roast beef, roast pork, rib-eye steak, chicken steak, and chicken cutlet sandwiches. For a little added flavor to your sandwich, ask for the broccoli rabe and sharp cheese. Tony Luke's Oregon Avenue location is open Mondays through Thursdays, 6 a.m. to midnight; Fridays and Saturdays, 6 a.m. to 2 a.m.; and Sundays, 10 a.m. to 8 p.m.
