Try the Nasi Goring at Sky Cafe, an Indonesian Eatery Not Far From Rittenhouse Claridge in Philadelphia

February 5, 2015

Sliver-thin rice vermicelli noodles (also known as bee hyun) swim in the kari bhun, a creamy chicken curry that’s gained a high level of popularity at Sky Cafe. The beloved South Philadelphia restaurant is known for Indonesian dishes like the kari bhun, ones that you’d be hard-pressed to find elsewhere near Rittenhouse Claridge.

The mie barbecue pork noodle soup is another favorite among regulars. Part of that is probably due to the fact that you can make the pork and noodles as soup-y as you like, given that the broth comes in a separate bowl on the side. The nasi goring also impresses palates with its medley of pork, sausage, and pickled veggies over fried rice. No matter what you order, you can expect it to come in a large serving and at a very fair price.
