The Schuylkill River Park in Philadelphia is one of those neighborhood parks that becomes an integral part of the community. The park overlooks the Schuylkill River and is less than a mile from Rittenhouse Claridge. Since 1988, the park has been overseen by Friends of Schuylkill River Park, which aims to preserve the area for the community.
The park has a lot to offer to residents and visitors. A traditional playground and play area is available for kids of all ages, and there are many large grassy areas for visitors to enjoy. The designated dog park area is one of the more popular spots in the park. It's conveniently split into sections for both small and large breeds. The dog park is fenced off, so owners can let their pups free. If you want to get a game together, the park offers a baseball diamond, basketball and tennis courts, and a soccer field. The park is open throughout the year.
