Take a Spring Stroll Along the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk

April 10, 2019

Anyone who thinks city living and the great outdoors don’t go hand in hand has clearly never experienced the Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk and Schuylkill River Trail. The River Trail hugs the banks of the Schuylkill for approximately 30 miles, starting in Center City and running all the way up through Montgomery County.

Unsurprisingly, the wide, paved trail is a favorite among cyclists and runners. But its 10-foot breadth also allows plenty of space for anyone who just wants to go for a leisurely stroll or bring stroller-bound kiddos along. The Schuylkill Banks Boardwalk extends the River Trail an additional 2,000 feet all the way to the South Street Bridge, promising breathtaking views of the water from a bustling part of Philadelphia. It’s a surprising place to find some calm in the heart of the city.
